Serving Anderson, Coffey, Franklin, Linn, Miami, Osage, and Shawnee Counties
Sustainability Recognition Awards
Each summer the Regional Coordinator attends to the local County Fairs to review the 4-H and Open Class entries in order to present Sustainability Recognition Awards. We are always looking to recognize projects that illustrate or promote the benefits of recycling and/or using recycled materials. Consideration is also given to projects that encourage composting, waste reduction and/or landfill diversion.
This special sustainability category and associated award are supported through partnerships with K-State Research and Extension’s 4-H programs and advertised by the various fair boards in their fair books. Winners receive a special yellow rosette and a cash prize!
Below are photos of the winners at the various fairs during the 2026 Season.
